48th CAPPING, PINNING, BADGING, & CANDLE LIGHTNING CEREMONY

"𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗼, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄"

Union Christian College-School of Health Sciences had its 48th Capping, Pinning, Badging, and Candlelighting Ceremony on October 25, 2022, at Hotel Ariana in Bauang, La Union. The theme of the event was “𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞: 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”.
This event marks the transition of nursing students into the nursing profession as a representation of the knowledge gained in school being applied in nursing practice. On this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, 194 Nursing students from levels 2 and 3 attended the ceremony with their parents. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮, the ceremony’s Guest of Honor and Speaker, offered motivational remarks that urged nursing students to pursue their chosen path and put enthusiasm into what they do for their clients in clinical practice.
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬, 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤. 𝘼𝙣𝙙, 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙚, 𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙣𝙚’𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨.”
Dr. Balita enthused the nursing students as they embarked on their path to the clinical area with these words that grabbed everyone’s hearts at the event. The ceremony was invigorated by such positive energies in the venue, and love and wisdom filled the air, flitting around the four corners of the room. It is the nursing students who will march up and fight for what they have hoped for, and nursing will provide them with a road to a brighter future. 𝗧𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗛𝗲𝗦𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, we hope that you will find strength in what you do and that no matter what comes your way, you will find a way to overcome every problem you may face someday.
