UCC Strengthens Digital Transformation through the Creation of the Center for Technological Innovation and Development

City of San Fernando, La Union – In line with its commitment to academic excellence, digital transformation, and technological advancement, Union Christian College (UCC) proudly announces the establishment of the Center for Technological Innovation and Development (CTID), a strategic institutional unit dedicated to advancing innovation, information technology, and digital services across the College. The creation of the CTID marks a significant milestone in UCC's continuing journey toward becoming a future-ready educational institution. As technology continues to reshape education, research, administration, and community engagement, the Center will serve as the Institution's central hub for technology-driven initiatives, digital infrastructure, innovation, and institutional transformation. Leading the newly established Center is Mr. Blendie V. Quiban, Jr., who has been designated as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Director. Under his leadership, the Center aims to strengthen the institution's technological capabilities while promoting innovation that supports teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations. Supporting the OIC Director is a team of dedicated technical professionals who will oversee the institution's critical information technology services: Mr. Kendrick T. Ignacio – System Administrator / Technical Staff, responsible for managing and maintaining the institution's School Management System (SMS), operating systems, user accounts, enterprise computing environment, and related IT services to ensure the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of institutional digital platforms. Mr. Abner John A. Ganuelas – Computer Laboratory Custodian / Technical Staff, tasked with overseeing the maintenance, readiness, and efficient operation of the College's computer laboratories and instructional technology resources. Mr. Gideon R. Dela Cruz – Network Administrator / Technical Staff, responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining the College's wired and wireless network infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of internet connectivity, CCTV surveillance systems, communication networks, and other network-related services that support the institution's academic and administrative operations. Mr. Mamerto Marvin E. Camacho – Web Administrator / Technical Staff, responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the institution's official website and digital platforms, and ensuring the timely, accurate, and effective dissemination of information to students, employees, and other stakeholders. The establishment of the Center reflects UCC's proactive response to the increasing demand for innovative technologies in higher education. The CTID is envisioned to become a catalyst for digital transformation by spearheading initiatives in information systems development, cybersecurity, network modernization, educational technologies, cloud services, artificial intelligence integration, and smart campus innovations. Moreover, the Center will work collaboratively with various academic and administrative offices to develop technology-enabled solutions that improve institutional efficiency, support data-driven decision-making, enhance student services, and promote research and innovation.
