UCC, UNKRIP Minds Meet to Forge Academic Partnership

Union Christian College continues to embark on its partnership with universities and colleges in the Southeast Asian Region on its quest for expanding doors of opportunities for personnel and students in their academic training along instruction, research, and extension.
On October 5, the College President Rev. Dr. Ferdinand A. Anno, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marilou L. Agustin, School; of Education, Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Cherrel G. Ignacio, and School of Business Sciences Dean and Finance Consultant, Prof. Nellie M. Galvan travelled to Central Kalimantan in Indonesia to realize the initial talks of academic cooperation with the education leaders of Universitas Kristen Palangkaraya (Christian University of Palangkaraya) known shortly as UNKRIP.
As of this writing, the UCC Team has been in meetings with UNKRIP leaders presenting the thrusts and directions of Union Christian College in its quest to quality whole person education and to also appreciate the thrusts and directions of UNKRIP.
Tomorrow, October 7, UCC and UNKRIP are expected to close the talks by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding that binds them for the realizations of their mutual vision of furthering their significance and relevance as academic institutions not only in their respective countries but also in other cultures with which this partnership has been conceived for quite some time.
This UCC-UNKRIP partnership is the 6th in the rows of UCC ASEAN partnership for the current academic year.
To date, the UCC partnership with STIKES Buleleng and STIKES Kesdam Udayana is now operational through the faculty exchange program. Currently, a professor from STIKES Buleleng, Dr. Dr. Ns. I Wayan Antariksawan, is teaching with the UCC Nursing Program and four UCC Faculty, Dr. Rose Merlyn M. Jubilo, Prof. Heidi Grace L. Tumbaga, Atty. Eric Stephen Alcantara, and Mr. Martius Flores of the School of Health Sciences are now in STIKES Buleleng and STIKES Kesdam Udayana for the faculty immersion program.
Also, the School of Education, Arts & Sciences is currently working with the Chonburi Technological College in Mueang Chon Buri District, Chonburi, Thailand for an Online English Teaching Program to operate in November, English Summer Camp Program to be hosted by UCC in Baguio in March to April 2024, and the UCC teaching internship in Thailand in June-August 2024.
